| Idris Grunt :: Gryffindor ~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ Claimed by Bits ❤️ ~ Queen of Typos ❄ Magical Mosh Pit ❄ Idris couldn’t come to the phone at the moment, Bailey. He was blissfully and completely out of it. If it were actually possible, there would be knittens prancing in a halo around his afroed head. He didn’t even feel one of the knittens pawing at him. Then again, perhaps if he had, he would have sank into an even deeper faint, if such a thing was possible. It was actually the smelling salts that helped him come back to reality. “KNITTENS!” he yelled, sitting up quite suddenly. Oops. Did he startle anyone? More importantly, had he startled a furbaby? It was at that precise moment that the one close to him was noticed and he immediately reached out with both hands to it. “Care for a snuggle, my little furriness?” Id opted to remain on the ground, sitting crosslegged while he reflected on all that just happened. He peered at Professor Menon. He knew the man wasn’t mad at him, being so au fait with him and his love for these furbabies. Then he turned his gaze around to the class setting, admiring the knittens sitting or laying on the cushions so radiantly.
Ugh. Could he join them? Again, there would be nothing out of the ordinary either since Menon usually found Idris lounging flat on his back and kneazle-cats all over him as he made kneazle-cat angels. Perhaps after the lesson, Menon would let him help round up the bbies. Yes, Iddy would make sure to ask.
For now, he happily watched as his professor demonstrated the grooming. He jiggled a knee impatiently, not because he knew the procedure already but because he was itching to groom a bby himself. While he watched and listened, the Gryffindor petted the knitten that he had found when he came-to. Yes, that little one had jumped into a hand and had settled against his chest quite contently. A few times it climbed his shoulder to nip an ear.
Soon enough though, he had the chance to get started on the brushing. “Professor.” The free hand was stretched in the air. “What’s this munchkin called?” Iddy needed to address them by their name, yes. While he had been finding that out, he had carefully gotten to his feet, now holding the knitten like one would hold a hooman baby. Once in the vicinity of the products and cushions, he resumed his original seating position, folding his legs again. A multi coloured brush with lime green bristles was selected. Balancing it on a knee, he magically had it cleaned - wandlessly like Mama Bea and Dad D taught him - and wordlessly.
Right.
Now, Idris clearly needn’t have to work too hard on receiving the bby’s trust since it had sat with him the entire time. If that hadn’t been the case, and the bby rejected him, he most likely would have been in tears. Much like what happens whenever he psppsppsped a cat but they ran away. Very heartbreaking moments indeed for this Lion. “We’re going to start with your back first ,okay?” Iddy smiled down at the knitten, which was gazing up at him with sharp and keen eyes. The brush was soothingly and slowly dragged through that young fur just as he started singing that ancient song “Pretty little baby.” He had found that singing further helped to keep the creatures calm. Thankfully, the knitten seemed to like his singing. Brush, brush, brush! “You can ask the flowers. I sit for hours, tellin' all the bluebirds, the bill and coo birds. Pretty little baby, I'm so in love with youuu.” |
