Harv was doubtful that his Head of House had been impressed. But Diallo had been impressed since fire was his thing and all. Speaking of Diallo!

“Heading to the Trial Course?” he asked the third year, having spotting him a few paces ahead. The second year jogged to catch up with him. “Try not to set anything on fire.” Though it would be sorta neat if the Slytherin did.

“Hi, Professor,’’ Harv greeted casually as he and Diallo arrived at the room. It was nice that the man was around in case things went south. His gaze lingered on the phials before reaching for one and carefully downing the potion within. Because of his earlier experience with his own brewing, there was some doubt in his mind; as though the batch presented now to the students were faulty. But he did wish to try the course so… all that he needed to do now was wait a bit before getting started.
He glanced up as the two boys entered, his gaze moving first to to the Ravenclaw and then to the accompanying Slytherin with a stern nod of acknowledgement.

"Mr Forsfelle. Mr Dreamer."

His attention drifted briefly toward the display rack of neatly labeled phials, one hand coming up to rub thoughtfully at his jaw before his thumb caught against the edge of his lower lip. Truthfully, earlier failed brewing attempts were precisely why those phials existed. Contrary to persistent student lore, he did not actually derive entertainment from watching children poison themselves with improperly brewed concoctions ― the rumors amused him up to a certain point.

Apparently a portion of the student body remained convinced he viewed accidental self-inflicted suffering as a valuable educational aid. That he would happily hand a student a failed potion and allow nature to deliver a memorable lesson about precision, ingredient costs, and following instructions correctly the first time.

There had, perhaps, been a period of his life when that accusation would have carried slightly more credibility.

His mouth twitched faintly as he folded his arms across his chest. Master Nasser's methods had certainly worked wonders on him during his apprenticeship, but there was a distinct difference between enduring such instruction yourself and inflicting it upon twelve-year-olds whose greatest crime was occasionally forgetting which direction to stir and were still learning how.

His gaze returned to the boys.

"Off you go then."
