Background:
- Alexei and his sister Elena were born via surrogate on 29th February 2104, to fathers Oliver and Dragomir Petrov. While they are twins, they are also half-siblings; Oliver is the biological father of Alexei, and Dragomir is the biological father of Elena. Alexei is the younger twin.
- Alexei and Elena were named after Oliver's biological parents (Oliver and his triplet siblings having been raised by his uncles after the death of his parents); Alexei also shares his name with Dragomir's uncle, who died during childhood.
- When the twins were still very young, Oliver and Dragomir also adopted an older child from Stemp House; Juniper Finn Petrov is fourteen years older than Alexei and Elena and joined the family as a teenager.
- Alexei and Elena began attending St Woboldo's Primary School at the age of four and attended until the end of Year 6.
- When they turned eleven, Alexei and Elena began attending Hogwarts. Here they were separated, with Elena being sorted into Gryffindor while Alexei went to Slytherin.

Extra:
- Leapling
- Quietly ambitious
- Genuinely loves to learn
- Likes art, especially painting
- Ride or die for Elena Petrova
- Bulgarian and Russian heritage
- Enjoys his own company, but hates feeling left out
- Can seem detached or even unemotional, especially to those he isn't close to, but is actually very sensitive
- Very shy, but not overly anxious about it; prefers to let Elena take the lead and the spotlight and make the friends while he watches and listens
- Not unkind, and can be very sweet, but can come across as standoffish, unfriendly, or aloof until he gets to know someone, as he's not very forthcoming or interested in intentionally making friends (so far)
- When he does reach a level of friendship with someone, is a fiercely loyal and caring friend, but if he or someone he loves is betrayed or hurt by that person, he will cut them off and is unlikely to give any second chances
- Tends to prioritise his own needs, partly out of self-preservation, though this does not mean he doesn't care about or consider other people
- Diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder at the age of seven, and has the condition in common with one of his uncles
- Comes from a creative family; his father (Dragomir) is a professional dancer and has appeared on television, in film, and on stage, and his father (Oliver) is an artist and now works at an art gallery; Elena also dances, and while Alexei has never exactly been tempted to join her in this, he always supports from the sidelines
- Sort-of theatre kid; likes helping to paint the sets rather than doing anything on stage, and has a healthy appreciation for music, musicals, and stage plays
