"How convenient. The kiddos are being watched by their other set of parents, so I'm all yours today." Whether they went adventuring together or just taking in the sights was a-okay with him. Seeing as not many were passing by them, Ean wasn't the type to open up so readily without the right time and person in mind. Today and here happened to align as he sighed. "Better these days than a couple of months ago." He said. "But, I'll be over it soon. There's better things to look forward now with the free time." Ean figured being optimistic was the best he could do for now. "What about you? You've been great fitting me into your schedule."
At that, Dhruv laughed and lightly jested, “Work the calories off then put them right back on, eh?” But Ean need not worry. In Dhruv’s opinion, their friend had never looked fitter; in the three years that they both had known each other, that is.
Dhruv recapped the water bottle, having chugged enough of the liquid. “Excellent! We can plan something if you like? Hiking comes to mind. Or swimming.” Anything, really, that was outdoorsy and required physical activity. Since they had quit the Ministry to take up teaching, being out and about wasn’t something that happened much unless you counted the time off that came with the holiday breaks. Dhruv angled himself so they could better get a look at Ean. Their torso was facing the other professor and one leg was resting flat on the bench. Yep, Dhruv had made himself right at home. “I like your positivity. Just don’t ignore the negative ones when they make themselves known.” Was Dhruv slightly worried about Ean? Yes. They didn’t want to see him crash and burn. “Count yourself lucky. I don’t make myself available just for anyone.” They grinned. “I’m kidding. That’s what friends are for, right?” |
