Avalon was not having a great day so far. In addition to getting lost in the castle two different times already, she had completely forgotten about Care of Magical Creatures until a few minutes ago. Meaning that she had also forgotten to wear the proper shoes and bring an umbrella. So the Ravenclaw trudged across the grounds with a scowl, watching with concern as her good pair of shoes became splattered with mud. It wasn't full-out pouring, but it was drizzling enough to be a nuisance - the mist clouded Avalon's glasses, and she could practically feel her hair growing limp. Perhaps the translucency would help mask how terrible she would look once she made it to class.
The only good thing was that Care of Magical Creatures didn't always require magic to be an interesting lesson. Avalon just hoped that they wouldn't be cleaning animal cages or some other mundane, non-magic activity. Once she made it to class, her mood worsened at the sight of the mud pit. Merlin, she hoped they wouldn't have to deal with that today. Avalon didn't even bother to see what animal was in the cage contraption as she sat down on a tree stump. Professor Williamson received a curt nod as she wiped the mist from her glasses with her sleeve.
