Yup. Fiona was right. Having an older student with them was going to be awesome. Isla had taken to partnering with the older students in classes, making sure she was near them during dangerous lessons, etc., etc. This was the second time Ewan had come to the rescue during one of those exact times. Pretty much, Ewan was AWESOME.

Speaking of Ewan, Mr. Prefect showed up about a minute later. Apparently he was taking his prefect job seriously, because he got straight to business with telling them no magic. "Not even just a little magic?" she asked, showing him a teeny tiny measurement by using her thumb and forefinger. She followed that up with a frown. "Come on! This is an adventure! Is it really even any fun if we don't almost get killed at least twice?"

She gave him a wide-eyed look. "You think Alfred might actually BE HERE?" she asked. WHOOOOOOA. "Okay, so Sir Nick just said to tell Alfred he left his book in the library, but I don't think he realized that we couldn't talk to the ghosts the way he could." She glanced around, not sure what to do. "Let's just...stay together." SHE WAS SCARED, OKAY? "Look for something out of the ordinary or something that says Alfred."

Isla wandered down the first aisle looking for who-knew-what.
